PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly apply a quick-drying coating solution on a glass plate surface without causing coating irregularity at a high speed. SOLUTION: In a method of applying the coating solution on the upper surface of the glass plate transported in nearly horizontal attitude, after the glass plate is carried into a film forming chamber, the coating liquid is sprayed by opening a coating nozzle until each position of the plurality of coating nozzles arranged in line at fixed intervals along the curved surface of the glass plate in the width direction intersecting the transporting direction of the glass plate is located from the tip end position to the rear end position of the glass plate by a nozzle position adjusting means and a nozzle height adjusting means.
