PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method for suppressing the occurrence of internal defects caused by inclusions at the central part of the sheet thickness in a final slab in the continuous casting method by which a molten steel poured into a mold is continuously pulled out to the lower part while being solidified and the unsolidified molten steel at the inside of the slab is subjected to electromagnetic stirring in the secondary cooling zone at the lower part of the mold. SOLUTION: Electromagnetic stirring is stopped at a timing where a pinch roll is stopped after the completion of casting, thus the increase of an equiaxed crystal ratio is suppressed, the suction force to the lower part in accordance with solidification shrinkage in the molten steel is reduced, and the suction of inclusions is reduced.
