PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of reducing possibility of accidental opening of a lid by a user when the rice cooker stops operating and pressure inside the rice cooker is high. SOLUTION: The rice cooker 10 includes an inner pot 20 for storing a material to be cooked, a heating means 50 for cooking the material, a liquid crystal display part 36 for displaying information on a screen, a control device 40 for controlling operation of the liquid crystal display part 36 and the heating means 50, an internal battery 71 for supplying power to the rice cooker 10, and a power failure detecting part 74 for detecting failure of the power supplied from its outside. When the power supplied from the outside of the rice cooker 10 is failed while the heating means 50 performs cooking, the liquid crystal display part 36 uses power supplied by the internal battery 71 so as to display caution indicating that the pressure may be high in the inner pot 20.
