PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for guiding a cover on its inner surface by giving an influence to adhesive applying by gluing the fixing component or the clamp of a perfect binding material to an adhesive during a closedown in the delivery port of a perfect binder. SOLUTION: Bound book pages 2 projected downward at the back are passed through a cover station 23 on a processing road 14, and are touched under pressure in the cover station 23 on the book page back and adjacent sides. In this case, the cover 3 is provided to adhere and bond the cover to the outermost side sheet of the book pages with the adhesive. The cover provides an adhesive bead 12 extended near the front edge of the inner surface 10. The cover is bonded to an apparatus underframe along the guide region 13 of the processing road extended obliquely downward at the rear of the cover station in the conveying direction F, and a fender unit 17 for extending the cover sheet 16 perpendicularly to the conveying direction is arranged.
