An airbag with two side walls which enclose at least one gas chamber and which are connected with each other by means of at least one joining line is described. In this arrangement, one joining line forms an edge joining line (30) which encloses the gas chamber. The joining line exhibits at least one convex section seen from the point of view of the gas chamber. In order to prevent uneven introduction of force, a further convex section of the same or another joining line is assigned to at least one convex section in such a way that the convex sections point towards each other.
