Method for repotting plants wherein a rootball is moved from a first rootball container to a second rootball container using a planting head (1). The planting head (1) has legs (3) which legs (3) are provided with pins (7) which may be in a first retracted position and in a second extended position, wherein
- in a first step the planting head (1) is brought above the rootball surface;
- in a second step the distance of the distal ends (6) of the legs (3) to the central axis (H) of the planting head (1) is reduced;
- in a third step the pins (7) are inserted into the rootball;
- in a fourth step the distal ends (6) of the legs (3) are brought closer together;
after which the rootball is taken out of the first rootball container and deposited into the second rootball container. The invention also relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method.
