<p>The device (12) has a collision unit (24) which is deployed with a drive (34) for protecting a loading edge from a storage position into a collision protection position (44), before loading- and unloading process of a loading area. The collision unit and the drive are connected with one another by an impact-absorbing mechanism (42). The mechanism is designed as an elastic damping element in particular as a spiral spring, which absorbs an impact force along a predetermined absorption path and is returned into an initial position after absorption of the impact force.</p> |
