Optical smoke alarm with amplifier integrated in light receiver

The optical smoke alarm (100) has a light receiver (122) receiving measuring light emitted by a light transmitter (140). An amplifier (129) is coupled with an output of the light receiver and is equipped for amplifying a measuring signal outputted by the light receiver. The light receiver and the amplifier are realized within a common housing and by a common semiconductor component (120). An impedance converter (127) is arranged downstream to the light receiver. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting smoke.
