<p>The ballast (1) has a resistor-capacitor (RC) circuit (33) designed as a frequency-determining device. An integrated driver circuit (25) provided for a half-bridge inverter (10) includes inputs (Lin, Hin) for inverted and non-inverted clock signals, and includes two outputs (Ho, Lo). The inverter includes transistors (11, 12) whose control electrodes are connected to the outputs. A monoflop circuit (40) is connected with the RC circuit. Schmitt-trigger NAND gates (32, 37), gates (41, 42) and the driver circuit are supplied with power by a starting circuit (28) during a start condition.</p> |
