The invention relates to a coal gas engine, especially an ignition device for a spark ignition gas engine and the gas engine. The ignition device is used for igniting gaseous fuel-air mixture; the ignition device (11) comprises a heating device (12) for the igniting source; the containing device (13) of the sleeve and the igniting gaseous fuel-air mixture is separated from the to-be ignited fuel-air mixture; the heating device (12) heats the contact section (14) of the to-be ignited fuel-air mixture for the corresponding containing device (13), so that the section of the containing device has the necessary temperature of the fuel-air mixture. The heating device (12) of the invention comprises at least one organization (17) for stabilizing the to-be ignited gaseous fuel-air mixture.
