A method for teaching a position of components is provided to teach the position of the components by automatically calculating a central position coordinates value of all pockets of a component palette. In an angular point sensing step(S1), a coordinate value of the angular point of a square pocket formed in a component pallet is stored. A pocket coordinate value is stored(S2). The pocket coordinate value defines the central position of the pocket. The position of the component is taught using the pocket coordinate value(S3). The plurality of pockets are formed on the component palette in at least one column and at least one row or more. One of the plurality of pockets is determined to the origin pocket. Each pocket has a shape corresponding to the shape and the size of the component.
