An auto cutter for a mini printer is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost by simplifying the cutter mechanism by cutting a roll paper with a step motor and a plate while moving back and forth. An auto cutter for a mini printer comprises a case, a step motor(M), a gear assembly(20) and a plate(30). An installation space is formed inside of the case. The step motor is perpendicularly arranged so that a driving shaft faces the top at the installation space. The gear assembly has a spur gear rotating to the opposite direction of the driving shaft while connecting with the driving shaft. The plate is connected with a cutting blade(31). The plate comprises a guide hole directly connected to a fixed protrusion formed at the upper side of the spur gear. The cutting blade cuts a roll paper while moving back and forth along the guide hole.
