METHOD FOR STABILIZING PARTICLES CONTAINING CARBON, ACTIVATED CARBON AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME

A method for stabilizing particles containing carbon, activated carbon and a method for preparing the same are provided to improve compression fracture load, a specific surface area, and sphericity etc, and to offer high yield of a final gaining material. A method for manufacturing activated carbon includes the following steps of: stabilizing particles containing carbon after impregnation of the particles containing carbon; oxidizing the stabilized particles in the oxygen atmosphere; reducing the oxidized particles before activation; and activating the oxidized particles in activation gas. An oxidation process is progressed at a temperature of 200‹C -400‹C for 5 minutes - 1 hour.
