The seat has a cushion (28) that is fixed on an armature (23) of a backrest (2) and covered by a cover (24). The cover has a lining element (27) for covering an airbag safety module (3) to mask the module, and a tearable stitch (210) for deployment of an airbag (30). The stitch fixes an edge of the element to a remaining part of the cover. The element is formed by a complex, which comprises a visible layer (271) made of textile and a sub-layer (272) made of elastomeric foam e.g. polyurethane foam. The element is flexible so as to recover its position after deformation of the element.
