FACE RECOGNITION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING THE INFRARED RAYS

A face recognition system and a method using the infrared rays are provided to recognize a face efficiently indoors or outdoors by applying data to the face recognition system through the radiation of an infrared ray. A motion sensing detecting sensor(10) detects the motion of a person by sensing the change of surrounding temperature, and an infrared ray radiating unit(20) radiates an infrared ray according to the reception of a motion signal of a person sensed by the motion sensing detecting sensor. A main board(40) receives an image photographed by a first camera, and captures only photographed image of eyes. The main board recognizes a face based on the position of iris and pupil extracted from the image.
