PLASMA DISPLAY APPARATUS AND DRIVING METHODS THEREOF

A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to minimize the intensity of radiation in discharge and improve contrast by using a wall charge accumulated for a sustain period and discharging for a reset period at next subfield. In a plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof, a positive ramp wave rising to a set up voltage(Vsetup) and a negative ramp wave descending down a set down voltage are supplied to a scan electrode alternately. A sustain voltage lower than the set up voltage is supplied to a sustain electrode for supplying a negative ramp wave descending down the set down voltage, and the positive ramp wave and the negative ramp wave are supplied to the scan electrode alternately.
