<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device capable of displaying stably an image, without generating malfunction of a scanning electrode driving circuit, even when using a highly precise or large sized plasma display panel. <P>SOLUTION: An image signal processing circuit 31 of the plasma display device includes: the first data conversion circuit 51 for converting an image signal of one field into the first image data indicating the propriety of generating writing discharge in each of discharge cells, in every sub-field; the second data conversion circuit 52 for converting the first image data into the second image data with little electric power consumption in the scanning electrode driving circuit; an electric power predicting circuit 53 for predicting the electric power consumption in every sub-field of the first image data and the second image data; a combination determining part 54 for determining a combination for combining the first image data and the second image data in every sub-field, so as to bring total of the electric power consumption in the one field into a prescribed electric power threshold value or less; and an image data selecting circuit 55 for constituting the image data, according to the combination in the combination determining part 54. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
