POLYURETHANE RESIN EMULSION FOR WATER-BASE PAINT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane resin emulsion for water-base paint, giving a dried coating film having an impact resistance favorably comparable with that of conventional water-base paint and having good time stability unattainable by conventional polyurethane resin emulsions. SOLUTION: The polyurethane resin emulsion satisfies the conditions that the glass transition temperature of the polyurethane resin U is -110°C to -20°C and the linear expansion ratio defined as the change of the length of a dried film obtained by drying the polyurethane resin emulsion at 105°C for 3 hr and measured by immersing the dried film in dimethylformamide at 25°C for 48 hr is 100-180%.
