PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care composition for external use having ceramide lipids dispersed therein so that the composition is transparent. SOLUTION: The skin care composition for external use comprises the following components (A), (B), (C) and (D), wherein the content of the component (B) is 0.001-0.6 mass%, the mass ratio of the components (B) to the component (C), ((B)/(C)), is at least 0.1 and less than 2, and the transmittance at an optical path length of 1 cm at a wavelength of 550 nm is at least 70% for that of water, and wherein (A) is an amino acid, (B) is ceramide lipids, (C) is an N-acyl-N-alkyltaurine or a salt thereof, and (D) is an aqueous component.
