PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that light quantity adjustment operation is erroneously operated and a sheet cannot be detected when a sheet having high light transmittance exists in adjustment of light quantity of a sheet detection light sensor in a sheet feeding device. SOLUTION: The sheet feeding device is provided with a pre-resist sensor for detecting the conveyed sensor, an ultrasonic double-feeding detecting sensor for detecting a double-feeding state of the conveyed sheet, and a control part for controlling the sheet feeding device and adjusting the light quantity of the pre-resist sensor based on detection signals of the respective sensors. When a document is detected with the usage of the ultrasonic double-feeding detecting sensor, light quantity adjustment operation of the pre-resist sensor S3 is not performed.
