An information life cycle management system includes an information management server device and an electronic medium control device. The information management server device has an information management DB. For a management file management ID in a management file copy request, the information management DB stores: a management ID issued, creation date/time in a header of the copy management file, user information, a medium type, a use limit policy, and information management server information while correlating the information items to one another. The electronic medium control device manages a management file for which an electronic copy has been requested, by using the information management DB.
