A method, system and apparatus for protecting user from cheat by Home NodeB are provided. The method includes: receiving the safe mode command sent by the core network; sending the safe mode startup command with the identity information of Home NodeB; and sending the safe mode startup command to the user equipment via Home NodeB. The true identity information of Home NodeB can be sent to the user equipment according to the safe mode startup command that can't be tampered. Therefore, any Home NodeB with hostility can't cheat the user equipment, which protect user from cheat by Home NodeB effectively.
