<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information device, having a built-in monitor that can automatically changeover and display the internal output and external input, and to provide a mode changeover method for the device. <P>SOLUTION: A notebook type computer device 10 includes a graphics adaptor 12 outputting video signals;a built-in LCD panel 11 displaying video signals output from the graphics adaptor 12, and a video port 19 for inputting and outputting video signals with an external device, wherein a monitor detection circuit 18 detects presence or absence of input of EDID (extended display identification data) information which is a monitor specification signal via the video port 19, and changes over a PC mode for using the built-in LCD panel 11 through the graphics adaptor 12 and a monitor mode for using the built-in LCD panel 11 by an external PC. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
