OPTICAL MULTICARRIER GENERATOR AND OPTICAL MULTICARRIER TRANSMITTER USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and compact optical multicarrier generator having a low loss, and to provide an optical multicarrier transmitter using it.

SOLUTION: The optical multicarrier generator includes: a continuous light generation means; a Mach-Zehnder light intensity modulator; an RF signal generation means for generating an RF signal of the sum of n-pieces of sign wave to (2n-1)'th harmonic wave (n is a natural number of two or more) using a fundamental wave and a third harmonic wave; and a means for driving the Mach-Zehnder light intensity modulator with zero chirp around the minimum point of transmittance.
