PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helium leak detector which can readily restore reduced detection sensitivity to its original state. SOLUTION: When carbon adheres thick to a surface S1, which is a part of an accelerating slit facing wall 14, or a surface S2, which is a part of an intermediate partition 13, a container part 20a is removed from a container 20, which hermetically seals the inside of an analytical tube 10. Then the container part 20a is rotated so that it is flipped horizontally with the intermediate partition 13 as the center. the container part 20a is then attached, as it is.
