PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high mobility and large current on/off ratio. SOLUTION: The organic transistor has an organic semiconductor layer, which contains at least one kind of compounds represented by general formula (1). In the formula (1), X<SB>1</SB>to X<SB>4</SB>each independently represent a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkyl group, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkoxy group, or substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, and furthermore, X<SB>1</SB>and X<SB>2</SB>or X<SB>3</SB>and X<SB>4</SB>may be combined with each other to form a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring. A ring A and a ring B each independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring, substituted or unsubstituted naphthalene ring, substituted or unsubstituted phenanthrene ring, substituted or unsubstituted pyridine ring, substituted or unsubstituted quinoline ring, substituted or unsubstituted pyrazine ring, or substituted or unsubstituted quinoxaline ring.
