GAS DETECTION ELEMENT AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem caused by humidity in a measuring environment of a gas detection element carrying a detection component (detection agent) by using a transparent porous body as a carrier. SOLUTION: This gas detection element 100 is equipped with a transparent porous glass (porous body) 102 having a plurality of pores 101; a pigment 103 carried (arranged) in each pore 101, wherein absorption of a visible domain is changed by being reacted with a detection object gas; and a hydrophobic layer (hydrophobic domain) 106 having hydrophobicity formed on the outside surface of the porous glass 102 and on the surface (wall surface) of each pore 101a opened to the outside surface.
