PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the response of servers which mutually perform synchronization in the storage system of medical image data or the like. SOLUTION: The storage system for storing image data includes a load balancer 20 and first and second image servers 30a and 30b for managing information related with image data. The first image server 30a includes a reading part 32 for entering a read-out request from the load balancer 20 through a switching hub 60, and for performing read-out processing to the information stored in the storage part 31 and a synchronization part 33 for synchronizing information with the second image server 30b through a switching hub 70. The second image server 30b includes a write-in part 35 for entering the write-in request from the load balancer 20 through the switching hub 60, and for making a storage part 34 store the information and a synchronization part 36 for synchronizing information with the first image server 30a through the switching hub 70.
