<p>A compressor having pistons whose heads are reciprocably inserted in cylinder bores, each piston having a piston pivoting-preventing section reciprocating with rotation of a swash plate cam via a pair of shoes held by a neck which is formed on the side opposite the head and is made to slide on both side faces of the swash plate cam, the piston pivoting-preventing section sliding in the axis direction of the compressor on the inner surface of a housing in order to prevent pivoting of the piston. The outer peripheral surface of the piston neck is maintained without contact with the inner surface of the housing. The diameter of the circle enveloping the outer peripheral surfaces of the piston necks is set greater than the diameter of that section of the inner surface of the housing on which the piston pivoting-preventing section slides. Because the piston pivoting-preventing section of each piston is appropriately constructed, the diameter of a compressor barrel is reduced, leakage at a gasket is prevented, and processing of the inner surface of the housing is facilitated.</p> |
