<p>A connector having a switch which contributes to a reduction in cost and size of the connector and has high durability and increased contact reliability. Of a stationary contact (131) and a movable contact (132) which form the switch (13), the stationary contact (131) is formed by bending downward a part of the rear end of an upper face (121) of a metal shell (12) covering an insulative housing (11) which is to be coupled with a mating connector (not shown). Further, the movable contact (132) extends with a fixed end (132a) thereof held by the insulative housing (11) and is bifurcated at substantially the middle of the extension into one free end (132b) and the other free end (132c). The one free end (132b) has an engaging section (132d) engaging a mating connector approaching the engaging section (132d) in the fitting direction, and the other free end (132c) having a contact section (132e) making contact with the stationary contact (131) when the engaging section (132d) is pressed by the mating connector.</p> |
