PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a normal printer print a panorama image without trimming it. SOLUTION: A digital camera is connected directly to a printer. A printing operation is controlled in the digital camera. It is determined whether an image to be printed is a panorama image (S104). When it is not the panorama image, an image signal is transmitted to the printer as it is (S105). When it is a panorama image, a composite image adding a blank image to upper and lower parts of the panorama image is prepared on a SDRAM (S106).
