PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video intercom system capable of answering a call from an intercom slave unit with a telephone terminal by using a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) for telephone. SOLUTION: An IP conversion adapter 3 includes a telephone number memory part 3a which stores telephone numbers, and a command converting means 3b which mutually converts the SIP for an intercom and an intercom command, communicates with an intercom master unit 2 with the intercom command, and communicates with a home gateway 5 with the SIP for an intercom. The home gateway 5 has a protocol converting means 5a which mutually converts the SIP for intercom and an SIP for telephone, and communicates with a telephone terminal 4 with a monitor with the SIP for telephone, and when a call is made from an intercom slave unit 1, the telephone terminal 4 with a monitor rings ringing tone, and video is displayed in a monitor 16 by performing a response operation, thereby ensuring a speech.
