摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy without worsening an acceleration feeling at starting a vehicle. SOLUTION: When required torque (torque required by a driver) corresponding to an accelerator opening is smaller than maximum torque generated by an engine 11 at starting the vehicle, the required torque is determined to be generated without using a torque converter 52 without largely amplifying engine torque, and a lock-up clutch 56 is controlled to be fastened (into a completely fastened state or a predetermined slipped state), thus improving the transmitting efficiency of an engine output to improve fuel economy without worsening the acceleration feeling at starting the vehicle. On the other hand, when the required torque is not smaller than the maximum torque at starting the vehicle, the required torque is determined to be generated by using only the torque converter 52 for amplifying the engine torque and the release control of the lock-up clutch is executed.
