PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric chain block equipped with a mechanical brake capable of determining the wear limit of a friction plate without disassembling a deceleration part. SOLUTION: The electric chain block is provided with an electric motor, the deceleration part equipped with the mechanical brake having the friction plate for decelerating rotation of the electric motor to the prescribed rotation speed, a load sheave connected to the deceleration part, and a load block hoisted or lowered through a load chain to which rotation force is transmitted by the load sheave.
