The valve (10) has a valve assembly (12) arranged in a valve chamber (18), with a valve carrier (32) firmly coupled with a valve housing (14). A piston (26) is arranged in the chamber in an axially movable manner. A spring element (24) is arranged and formed such that force is applicable by the spring element on the piston in a direction of a longitudinal axis (L). An adjusting element (28) is firmly coupled with the carrier and is arranged and formed such that preset force is applicable on the spring element in a direction of the axis by the adjusting element. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a valve assembly of a spring-loaded valve.
