Disclosed is a method for producing an inorganic composite water-dispersed resin, which comprises a step of preparing a water dispersion of a layered clay mineral by dispersing a hydrophilic layered clay mineral into water, a step of preparing a monomer emulsion by blending the water dispersion and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer at such a ratio that 4-200 parts by weight of the layered clay mineral is blended per 100 parts by weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomer, thereby emulsifying the ethylenically unsaturated monomer, a step of blending a surfactant into at least the water, the water dispersion, the ethylenically unsaturated monomer or the monomer emulsion, and a step of polymerizing the ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the monomer emulsion.
