PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that allows a holder to be detached in a simple manner, and to provide a holder position adjustment method. SOLUTION: In this optical module 11, the holder 15 is detached from a base 12, for instance, for the readjustment of the position of the holder 15. Outer edges of a thin plate 19 partition spaces 22 are formed between a reception surface 13 of the base 12 and a bottom surface of the holder 15. The spaces 22 enter the inside from the outline of the holder 15. Accordingly, for instance, a detachment member 25 can be inserted readily into the space 22.
