<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like sensor element capable of easily sealing a fixed portion without using a filler when it is used by fixing a housing, and of easily positioning the sensor when it is fixed to a housing. <P>SOLUTION: The plate-like sensor element 1 includes: a plate-like sensor element body 3 having a plate-like ceramics substrate; and a ring-like sealing section 4 arranged so as to surround a part of the sensor element body 3. The sensor element body 3 has a sensor portion 5 between a position at which the sealing section 4 is arranged and an end 6 of it.
