PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To swiftly acquire and confirm necessary image information without being affected by electromagnetic waves. SOLUTION: An electronic cassette 28 includes a casing, a radiation detector 44 stored inside the casing for detecting radiation transmitting a subject from a radiation source and converting the radiation into radiation image information Da, a cassette control part 50, and an interface 54. The electronic cassette 28 also has a memory card 200 to be detachably mounted in the casing. The cassette control part 50 has a data compression circuit 214 for compressing the data of the radiation image information Da as compressed radiation image information Db.
