METHOD FOR CATHODICALLY PROTECTING END OF EXISTING PC GIRDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively and cathodically protecting such an end of an existing PC girder as not to have a necessary space for a cathodically protecting operation in the front side of itself, and also such an end of a PC girder as to have an extremely sensitive nature without causing damage such as cross sectional damage.

SOLUTION: This protection method is directed at cathodically protecting the end of the PC girder 12 in a bridge having concrete cross girders 15 arranged in between the ends of the PC girders 12 which are installed so as to be parallel to each other and integrated with the ends. The method includes: forming electrode insertion holes 20 in the cross girder 15 of the side of each PC girder 12 at an interval in a height direction of the cross girder 15; inserting and embedding an anode for cathodic protection in the electrode insertion hole; and applying a direct-current voltage between the anode and a steel material in the PC girder.
