PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove variation in the volume of a usable ink cartridge without increasing costs. SOLUTION: In order to solve the above problem, the method of the constitution for control comprises steps of detecting that the ink cartridge mounted is an unused ink cartridge, displaying the nominal value of the ink volume of the ink cartridge when it is indeed an unused ink cartridge and displaying the value as an ink remaining volume after the used amount of ink is deducted from the nominal value.
