PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a speech recognition rate without useless processing load and power comsumption, by stopping echo cancel processing by an echo canceler, when the speech recognition rate is hardly improved by echo canceling of the echo canceler. SOLUTION: A control section 17 monitors a signal which is input to an echo cancel section 14, and controls the echo cancel processing by the echo cancel section 14 by determining whether or not, the speech recognition rate is improved by canceling an echo component.
