PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly intercom device which provides surroundings, especially human behavior outside a photographing area, even if an image is zoomed. SOLUTION: An intercom main unit 3 incorporates a touch panel monitor 15, a main unit controller 17 which controls display operations in the monitor 15, an electronic video processor 18 for electronic zoom and electronic pan/tilt control, an all person detector 19 which detects the number of persons in an image imaged by a camera 6 through face detection and creates position information of each of the persons, a specifying processor 21 which specifies persons outside zoomed screen and the number of them, and an OSD processor 22 which creates character images related to the specified persons outside the screen and determines display positions of the character images. When a desired display area of the entire image is zoomed, persons who are not displayed on the monitor 15 due to zooming are displayed on the monitor 15 as character images.
