PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow effectively using IP addresses held in a DHCP server by making the DHCP server surely recognize an IP address which a mobile station has ceased using, without receiving an IP address release request transmitted from the mobile station and releasing the IP address. SOLUTION: A communication system 100 comprises a mobile station (PHS 200), a base station 300, and a DHCP server 400. The PHS 200 includes an IP address acquisition part 220 and a mobile station transmission part 222, and the base station 300 includes a base station confirmation part 320 and a release request transmission part 322, and the DHCP server 400 releases the IP address in response to reception of an IP address release request from the release request transmission part 322.
