PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoothly switchable contact structure of a switch by retaining arc-extinguishing performance for a long period of time. SOLUTION: A slit portion is formed by a cylindrical arc-extinguishing chamber 20 made of an arc-extinguishing gas generating member and an arc-extinguishing rod 12 made of the arc-extinguishing gas generating member and slidably provided in the arc-extinguishing chamber 20, and arc generated between a movable electrode 3 and a stationary electrode 4 when they are separated is led to the slit portion to extinguish arc by a high pressure arc-extinguishing gas generated from the arc-extinguishing chamber 20 and the arc-extinguishing rod 12. The arc-extinguishing chamber 20 and the arc-extinguishing rod 12 are provided by rotatably supporting them with each center axis as a center, the windmill portions 22, 23 of arc-extinguishing chamber 20 and the arc-extinguishing rod 12 are provided at positions facing the jet passage of the high pressure arc-extinguishing gas, and the jet of the high pressure arc-extinguishing gas hits the windmill portions 22, 23, and the arc-extinguishing chamber 20 and the arc-extinguishing rod 12 are thereby rotated.
