PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet conveying method capable of nicely eliminating stuffing of paper sheets in an air duct when conveying paper sheets with air flow. SOLUTION: In the paper sheet conveying method for conveying paper sheets 32 in an air duct 22 by using a paper sheet conveying device having the air duct 22 and an air flow generating device 24 for generating air flow in the air duct 22, when the paper sheets 32 are stuffed in the air duct 22, the movement of the paper sheets 32 is promoted by applying the physical force to the paper sheets 32 to eliminate stuffing of the paper sheets 32. The physical force is applied to the paper sheets 32 by changing the velocity of the air flow generated in the air duct 22 by the air flow generating device 24.
