PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting base for a lifting lug capable of reducing working man-hour and tightly securing a nut (or bolt). SOLUTION: The mounting base includes a first base member 2 of a U shape having three faces of an upper wall 2A and right and left side-walls 2B, 2C and a second base member 3 of a U shape having three faces of a bottom wall 3A and right and left side-walls 3B, 3C, wherein the second base member 3 is shaped to be inserted to the first base member 2 and they are composed to be assemblable with each open face opposed with each other. Mounting recession grooves 7, 7 are shaped in the end part of the right and left side-walls 3B, 3C of the second base member 3 for engaging with a hexagon nut 4, a bolt insertion hole 5 generally concentric with the thread hole of the hexagon nut 4 is opened in the upper wall 2A of the first base member 2, and the hexagon nut 4 engaged with the nut mounting recession grooves 7, 7 of the second base member 3 is prevented from coming out and is aligned with the bolt insertion hole 5 when the first and second base members are assembled.
