#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves producing a guide rail blank (8) by hot rolling and pulling of a metallic material. Side surfaces (2, 3) of the rail blank are formed with guide slots (4, 5), which extend parallel to a longitudinal axis of the rail blank. The rail blank is hardened and subsequently the guide slots are hardened. The guide slots are initially warmly hardened together with the blank. The guide slots are additionally hardened by mechanical cold working.
