A method and apparatus of intra-frame prediction based on adaptive block transform. The method mainly comprises: obtaining the intra-frame prediction mode of adjacent image block; when the size of adjacent image block is not equal to that of current image block, the mapped intra-frame prediction mode under the size of current image block is obtained through mapping according to the intra-frame prediction mode of adjacent image block; obtaining the intra-frame prediction mode of current image block according to the obtained mapped intra-frame prediction mode. In the embodiment of the invention, it is adopted that the intra-frame prediction mode of current image block is chosen according to the intra-frame prediction mode adopted by adjacent image block, therefore, when the size of adjacent image block is not equal to the size of current image block and the intra-frame prediction mode of adjacent image block is different from the intra-frame prediction mode of the current image block, the corresponding intra-frame prediction mode can also be determined for current image block.
