<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate conveying device capable of reliably checking whether a printed circuit board is present even if having notches etc., without reference to the color of the printed circuit board, the kind of its material, etc. <P>SOLUTION: When the printed circuit board 2 reaches a predetermined position of a conveyance chute 3 or 4, conveyance by a conveyor belt 5 is stopped and a microcomputer 15 amplifies a supply voltage from a power circuit 16 by an amplifier 11 and supplies it to a light emitting element 12 to emit light. Then the light emitting element emits light having a light emission width longer than the thickness of the printed circuit board 2 from an upper light emission section 84 through an optical fiber 10 horizontally, i.e. toward an upper light reception section 94 opposed with the printed circuit board 2 interposed. In this case, the quantity of light received by the upper light reception section 94 is ≤94% because of the presence of the printed circuit board 2, the microcomputer 15 determines that "printed circuit board 2 is present". <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
